AVIATIONTAG Boeing 757 - D-ALEW - Yellow (DHL Express)
Aviationtag have been taking original airplane parts off from what were once real-life airliners and turning them into premium, one-of-a-kind designer and collector’s items since as far back as 2006. In 2015, Aviationtag had the idea of making the world a little bit better by upcycling scrapped airplanes into special 'Aviationtags'. Alongside commercial planes like the Boeing 747 or the Airbus A340, they have also given historical aircraft like the DC-3 “candy bomber” a second life as an Aviationtag.
The Aviationtags themselves are 100% authentic original airplane skin. The origin of the material can be traced back seamlessly all the way to when the plane was first sold for scrap.
The Aviationtag X DHL Express Edition is the latest addition to a unique trilogy made from retired Boeing 757 freighters. Built in 1988, D-ALEW first served as a passenger aircraft for British Airways before joining DHL Express in 2003. Converted into a freighter, it transported shipments across the globe until its retirement in 2017. After being decommissioned in 2018, it was dismantled along with its sister aircraft in Castellón.
Now, it lives on as a limited Aviationtag edition! A special feature of this release: For the first time, an Aviationtag bears the DHL Express logo! In our workshop, we carefully cut, polished, and laser-engraved the aircraft’s fuselage to create these unique collector’s items. Each tag is engraved with the aircraft type, registration, and edition number. Limited to just 7,000 pieces, this Aviationtag is a must-have for aviation and logistics enthusiasts.
Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in haptics, thickness of material and colour. Small irregularities tell of a plane’s long history and convey the feeling of its glory days above the clouds.
Dimensions: 35 x 88mm.
