Return Policy
This Return Policy applies to both in-store and online stores, which forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
the OBJECT ROOM will acknowledge and follow all of the requirements outlined in the Australian Consumer Law to ensure that all customers are treated fairly.
Consumer Guarantees
Our goods and services are covered by consumer guarantees that automatically apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
If you believe your purchase fails to meet the consumer guarantees - for example, your purchase is faulty, not of acceptable quality, does not match the description provided or is not fit for purpose - then you may be entitled to a remedy by law.
If you have purchased a product with a major fault, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund. If you purchased a product with a minor fault, we will in the first instance, exchange a replacement or repair the faulty products at our cost.
Where a product is damaged through misuse, accident or abnormal use, the Australian Consumer Law or any manufacturer’s warranty may not apply, and we may choose not to provide a refund, exchange or repair.
Consumer guarantees cannot be excluded or limited and are in addition to any manufacturer’s warranties or extended warranties purchased by, or given to, you.
the OBJECT ROOM will require proof of purchase before providing a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. This can be your Receipt/Tax Invoice, Gift Receipt, Order Confirmation or Delivery Note.
Returns of faulty products must be returned to us within 14 days of delivery. Returns of faulty products received outside the above time frames will be processed as the manufacturer's warranty claim.
When returning or exchanging a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, we will arrange return postage on your behalf. We may require photos of product for inspection, prior to sending goods back to us. Should you need further assistance regarding this process, please contact us.
Please be aware that all refunds will be made using the original payment method in Australian Dollars (AUD). If your payment was initiated by an international card or e-wallet, the final refunded amount may fluctuate due to currency exchange rates at the time of transaction.
Change of Mind
the OBJECT ROOM is happy to offer an exchange for change of mind of products within 14 days of delivery. Proof of purchase is required for all exchange, this can be your Receipt/Tax Invoice, Gift Receipt, Order Confirmation or Delivery Note.
Our change of mind guidelines do not apply to any returns made in accordance with consumer guarantees, or otherwise as required by law.
There are some exclusions on products that are not exchangeable. These include products that are identified as being discontinued, reduced in price or on sale and products that have been opened and are unable to be re-sold as new products (most of our Aromatic products are an example of this). Due to hygienic reasons, swimwear and earrings are non-exchangeable.
To exchange products, please contact us with your details and the intention of what products you would like to exchange. You are required to arrange and take responsibility for safely returning the products to us, at your own expense. the OBJECT ROOM does not take any responsibility for any products lost during the process of posting your return. Therefore, it is highly recommended to use a tracked service and insurance service whilst posting your return. All returned products must be in the same condition as they were shipped, unused and with original packaging, along with proof of purchase. Once we have received and accepted the products you returned, we will issue an exchange within the next working day. You will then be required to pay a new shipping fee in order to have the newly selected product to be sent out as well as any cost difference should the newly selected products be of a higher value than the ones being returned.
Returns of exchange products must be returned to us within 14 days of delivery. Returns of exchange products received outside the above time frames will not be accepted.
Please be aware that international customs duties, taxes and any other import-related fees are not refunded for shipments outside of Australia.
Pre-Order
Some products are available for pre-order and usually shipped within the period specified on the product page. You will be charged at the time of placing a pre-order. Pre-order cannot be exchanged before delivery. However, you may exchange or return it following this Return Policy once the order has been delivered to you.
In the unlikely circumstances that we foresee a delay in your pre-order item, we will notify you immediately of the new estimated time frame. Should you not be satisfied with the new time frame, cancellation of the order is allowed and a full refund with be made to your original payment method.
Return Policy Update
the OBJECT ROOM may at times make changes to our Return Policy. For this reason, we recommend that you refer back to this page from time to time.
If this update occurs, we will post the new policy on our websites. Once posted, the new policy will go into effect immediately, replacing any previously stated policy. Your continued use of our websites constitutes your consent to the revised Return Policy.
English is Our First Language
This Return Policy may be translated into other languages for your convenience. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the other language versions, the English version shall prevail.
