AVIATIONTAG Boeing 747 - D-ABTE - White (Lufthansa)
Aviationtag have been taking original airplane parts off from what were once real-life airliners and turning them into premium, one-of-a-kind designer and collector’s items since as far back as 2006. In 2015, Aviationtag had the idea of making the world a little bit better by upcycling scrapped airplanes into special 'Aviationtags'. Alongside commercial planes like the Boeing 747 or the Airbus A340, they have also given historical aircraft like the DC-3 “candy bomber” a second life as an Aviationtag.
The Aviationtags themselves are 100% authentic original airplane skin. The origin of the material can be traced back seamlessly all the way to when the plane was first sold for scrap.
Ever since the resounding success of the first Lufthansa Boeing 747 Edition a few years ago (D-ABVC), you have told us time and again that a Lufthansa jumbo is one of your biggest wishes – a wish that is now finally coming true!
The Boeing 747-400 sporting registration D-ABTE and manufacturer serial number (MSN) 24966 left the factory doors for Lufthansa in April 1991 and was christened “Sachsen-Anhalt”. After 21 successful years, D-ABTE was retired on 6 August 2012, initially being parked in Michigan at Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport until 29 May 2013. There, the US cargo airline Kalitta Air finally took ownership of the plane. With its new registration N769CK, the Boeing 747-400 no longer took to the air, but continued to belong to the airline until September 2021, which used it for spare parts.
We are now proud to present our latest cooperation with Lufthansa and to bring a piece of it home to you!
Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in haptics, thickness of material and colour. Small irregularities tell of a plane’s long history and convey the feeling of its glory days above the clouds.
Dimensions: 35 x 88mm.
